The patient will have a thorough clinical evaluation. Dr. Bobak will determine if he or she will benefit from and is ready to start an orthodontic treatment. Recommendations on what type of appliances and approximate length of treatment will be made at this time. The patient will be scheduled for his or her second appointment, for establishing orthodontic records.
Orthodontic records include facial and dental photographs, models of the teeth, which are positioned on an articulator (jaw movement simulator), and low-radiation digital X-rays to view skeletal and dental structures. Dr. Bobak will carefully evaluate the diagnostic data and determine the best treatment plan. Treatment options and any special considerations will be reviewed with the patient and, in the case of a child, his or her parents.
